TRVLOG PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how trvlog LLC ("trvlog," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Trvlog mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
WHO WE ARE
Trvlog is a travel app that lets you record trips and itineraries, organize travel photos and videos into scrapbook-style photobooks, and share your travels with a community through a social feed, following, comments, likes, and direct messaging.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account Information. When you register, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name and phone number. Authentication uses email and a one-time verification code (OTP). We do not store your password in plain text.
Profile Information. You may optionally add a profile photo, a short bio, your birthday, favorite destinations, countries you have visited, and places you have visited, and set your profile visibility to public, followers-only, or private.
User Content. We store the content you create: trips and itineraries, "core memory" notes and photos, photobooks (pages, layouts, captions, and the photos, videos, stickers, and text you add), social posts (photos, videos, captions, optional check-in text), comments, and direct messages. Photos and videos you choose to upload are stored on our behalf by our hosting provider.
Social Graph and Activity. We store your follows, likes, comments, blocked users, conversations and messages, content reports you submit, and favorited trips and locations.
Identifiers and Device Information. We assign you an internal user ID. If you enable push notifications, we store a push notification token for your device.
Location and Place Information. The App uses the Google Places service to help you search for and select cities and points of interest by name; when you select a place we store its name, an identifier, and coordinates to show it on maps and suggest nearby locations. To help you find photos that match a trip, the App can read the GPS metadata already embedded in photos in your device's library and filter them on your device; only the photos you choose to add are uploaded. The App may request foreground location permission for these features and does not track your device's background location.
Camera and Photo Permissions. With your permission, the App accesses your camera and photo library so you can capture and select photos and videos.
Usage Information. We collect basic information needed to operate the App, such as content you view or create, notification preferences, and onboarding progress.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use information to create and manage your account; provide core features (trips, itineraries, photobooks, posts, messaging, following, search, notifications); display and share your content according to the visibility you choose; send transactional emails such as verification codes; send push notifications you have enabled; suggest places and photos relevant to your trips; enforce our Terms and respond to reports; and operate, secure, and improve the App.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not show third-party advertising in this version of the App, and we do not use your content or messages for cross-app tracking.
HOW INFORMATION IS SHARED
Other Users. Content you post is visible to others based on the visibility you select. Shared trips, posts, and photobooks may be accessible to anyone who has a share link you generate.
Service Providers. We share information with vendors who help us run the App: Convex (backend hosting and database storage of your account and content), Google (Places API for place search), Resend (sending verification and password-reset emails), and Expo with the Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging (delivering push notifications).
Legal and Safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of trvlog, our users, or others.
DATA RETENTION
We retain your account information and content while your account is active. Verification codes and short-lived tokens expire automatically. If you delete your account, we delete the associated data as described below, except where retention is required by law.
ACCOUNT DELETION
You can delete your account from within the App. Account deletion is irreversible and removes your account along with associated data, including your trips, photobooks, and posts. Some content shared with or sent to others, and aggregate or de-identified data, may persist as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can update much of your profile in the App, control notification and visibility settings, and delete your account. You can control camera, photo, location, and notification permissions in your device settings. To exercise other rights, contact us below.
SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
INTERNATIONAL USERS
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will update the Effective Date above.
